Mahakali Caves

Location: Mahakali Caves Rd, Sunder Nagar, Andheri East, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400093.

The Mahakali Caves, also Kondivite Caves is a set of East facing rock-cut architecture on a monolithic mountain at Jogeshwari-Vikhroli link road at Mumbai. Like all other rock-cut Caves in Maharastra, this cave consists of Vihara and Chaitya hall. This site has great religious significance. It is a set of 19 rock-cut caves that was built between 1st century and 6th century. Carved out of a solid basalt rock, this religious edifice has caves, rock out cisterns and remnants of the other structures.
